heavily layered oil pastel blended with fingers, knife and turpentine---original line drawing still visible in parts. an expressive still life image in golden yellows, deep violet and muted greens. the satin varnish protects the pastel and adds some surface depth. pastel on canvas is yum---i had fun getting into this one--studied the flower arrangement over a few days as the blooms changed, even died. ooh---a bit morbid there, but no hidden message, i promise!
