standing female figure viewed from behind, drawn from life. a reverse technique...dark warm-toned (brown/black) charcoal layed on entire surface, removed with eraser and fingers to reveal light on form. details in sepia crayon, scratch lines from charcoal reveal quick motions, expression. i could work like this forever, it's as close to sculpture as i've yet come...pulling out the form from the shapeless black. when i'm done, it's hard to tell where the charcoal dust ends and i begin!
